
The “Guitare Outaouais” Competition will be held on Saturday, March 31 2012 at the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau as part of a day-long event celebrating Classical Guitar. Our goal is to promote the instrument and music for students of all-ages.
By participating in this event, contenders will be given the opportunity to perform in front of a jury of professionals. These experts will grade and comment the performance in order to encourage their development. In addition, a gala concert will be held in order to showcase the talent of our rising stars. Scholarships will be awarded to three contestants in each category.
The different categories are:

Rules
A 20$ registration fee is required to participate in the “Guitare Outaouais” competition. The payment can be made online via Paypal or by Cheque to “Académie de Guitare de l’Outaouais”. All documents must be postmarked no later than March 1st, 2012. Send all documents to:

- The first round will be held for all categories on March 31st 2012 at the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
- The second round for the 16-19 year old category and the open category will be held on the same day during the Gala Concert at 7:00pm and the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau.
- *The 16-19 year old category applies to students who have not yet undertaken a Bachelors of Music or who are not registered in the Undergraduate/Graduate Level at the Conservatory.
- Contenders must provide a copy of the score for each work at each round.
- The winners of the 8-11 and 12-15 year old categories will be invited to play during the Gala Concert.
- The winners of the 16-19 year old category and Open category will be revealed at the end of the Gala Concert.
- Contenders who do not strictly abide to these rules will be immediately disqualified from the competition.
- Scholarships will be awarded to 3 contenders in each category.
